Ember & Lotus began with a simple question: Why is it so hard to find a sports bra that actually works?

For many women, there is a constant search for the perfect sports bra—and we’re not asking for much.

At Ember & Lotus, we believe it’s time for that search to end. The right support for any workout, comfortable enough for all-day wear, easy to put on and take off without a personal wrestling match, built to last through real life. Like many women, I’ve owned countless sports bras. I’ve lived through the same cycle over and over again—buying bras that seem perfect…until the first wash. The pads shift—sometimes subtly, other times catastrophically. One moment they're in place, the next they've vanished into the corner of the bra or fallen out completely.

Suddenly, I’m spending ten frustrating minutes trying to shove them back through a hole barely big enough for my pinky, then wrestling to smooth them out so the bra is even remotely wearable again. And even when they stay put, the pads themselves are a whole other headache—peeling, bunching, disintegrating long before the rest of the bra shows a hint of wear.

But it wasn’t just the padding that I had an issue with. I was growing more and more frustrated with having to double up on sports bras just to feel supported during my workouts. I was done with bras that were either too tight to be comfortable or so flimsy they didn't do their job. I was looking for something that was going to give me the support I needed but also felt so good that I wouldn’t even realize I was wearing it.

When I couldn’t find what I needed, I decided to build it. Through sheer frustration, Ember & Lotus was born.

Our purpose? To create a sports bra that works as hard as you do. Every detail of our bras—from sewn-in padding to the smooth, supportive design—was developed through real-world testing and feedback from women of all shapes and sizes who lead active, demanding lives.

Because women shouldn't have to choose between form and function.
